Lighting the Path of Knowledge: Hon. Princess Chinwe Nnabuife Represents Deputy Speaker at UNIZIK’s 17th Convocation Ceremony

On Saturday, 9th December 2023, history was made as Hon. Princess Chinwe Clara Nnabuife (Adaejiejemba), Member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, proudly stood in for the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, at the 17th Convocation Ceremony of the prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka.

In her ever-inspiring and gracious manner, Hon. Nnabuife not only delivered the Deputy Speaker’s message with passion and precision, but also commissioned the newly constructed TETFund Postgraduate Buildings, a key infrastructural milestone in the institution’s academic advancement.

Commissioning a Legacy of Learning

The newly unveiled TETFund structures stand as a symbol of progress and investment in academic excellence. Representing the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Nnabuife described the buildings as “a legacy that will outlive us, shaping generations of thinkers, innovators, and leaders.”

She emphasized the importance of infrastructure in academic development and charged both students and faculty to make judicious use of both existing and new facilities to expand the frontiers of knowledge in service to Nigeria and humanity.

“These buildings are not just bricks and mortar; they are temples of transformation for the leaders of tomorrow. The future of Nigeria sits in classrooms like these. Use them well.” — Hon. Chinwe Nnabuife

Commending Leadership and Vision

In her goodwill message, Hon. Nnabuife hailed the Vice Chancellor of UNIZIK, Prof. Charles Esimone, for his visionary leadership and relentless pursuit of excellence. She described him as a beacon of academic transformation whose leadership has brought about remarkable growth and positive changes within the university system.

“Prof. Esimone’s unwavering commitment to elevating UNIZIK is a testimony that purposeful leadership in education is possible. Nigeria needs more of such reformers in our academic institutions,” she said.

A Voice for Youth and Education

Known for her passion for youth development, education, and empowerment, Hon. Nnabuife’s presence at the convocation was not just ceremonial. It was symbolic—a reaffirmation of her strong belief that education remains the greatest equalizer in the journey toward national transformation.

Her speech served as a rousing call to the graduates, urging them to rise beyond the limitations of their present and become architects of a new Nigeria.

The Bigger Picture: Leadership Beyond Borders

As a female legislator and a strong advocate for inclusive governance, Hon. Nnabuife’s representation at the ceremony reflects the trust and credibility she commands not only in her constituency but also at the national level. Her presence highlights the bridge-building role of public servants who stand in the gap for leaders, institutions, and the people.

In Her Own Words:

“Education is power, and those who control knowledge control the future. Let every graduate here today go into the world with courage, capacity, and character. Nigeria is waiting for you.” — Hon. Chinwe Clara Nnabuife

Conclusion: A Day to Remember

The event was more than a convocation—it was a celebration of vision, leadership, and the promise of a better tomorrow. Through her representation, Hon. Princess Chinwe Nnabuife once again demonstrated the essence of responsible leadership, where service, support, and sincerity shape the future of a nation.

As she continues to raise the banner of progress for Orumba and Nigeria at large, Adaejiejemba remains a light of hope, a voice of purpose, and a symbol of transformational leadership.
